International Conference on Science, Mathematics, Technology, and Education Kicks Off at Punjabi University

Patiala, November 27, 2024:

The Department of Education and Community Services at Punjabi University, Patiala, in collaboration with Curtin University, Australia, today inaugurated the International Conference on Science, Mathematics, Technology, and Education (ISMTE-2024). The three-day conference, sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and supported by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh, aims to explore the latest advancements in these crucial fields and foster interdisciplinary collaborations among researchers, educators, and policymakers.


The inaugural session featured a distinguished lineup of guests, including keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Rachel Sheffield, Chief Guest Prof. Pankaj Arora, and Dr. Narinder Kaur Multani, Dean of Punjabi University, Patiala. Prof. Shashikala Wanjari, Vice Chancellor of the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, attended as the Guest of Honor. Other notable speakers included Prof. Rekha Koul, Deputy Head and Discipline Lead at the STEM Research Group, School of Education, Curtin University, and Prof. Sanjiv Puri.

The conference promises to be a platform for vibrant discussions on the integration of science, mathematics, and technology in education, offering innovative solutions to enhance learning methodologies and research across disciplines. Through expert-led panels, presentations, and collaborations, ISMTE-2024 is set to shape the future of education and research in these dynamic fields.
